Theory review and regulatory updates (1 hour)
- Changes to the ERC/ILCOR guidelines for BLS
- Updates to Ministerial Decree 388/2003 and related legislation
- Analysis of the most common errors observed in company practice
Practical exercises, BLS and emergency management (3 hours)
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation on a manikin: rate, depth and quality of compressions
- Rescue breaths with a pocket mask and bag-valve mask
- Managing airway obstruction: the Heimlich manoeuvre
- Treatment of haemorrhage, wounds and burns of varying degrees
- Recovery position and management of the injured casualty
- Simulation of a call to the 118 emergency number and coordination with external emergency services
Objectives
To keep the preparedness of Group B and C first aid officers at a high level, updating theoretical knowledge and consolidating the practical skills needed for a rapid and effective response to emergencies in the workplace.
