The Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale dell’Umbria e delle Marche (IZSUM) is a public health body working in the fields of food safety, animal health and veterinary public health across two regions.
The client’s need
The Institute works with multi-disciplinary staff spread across several sites and laboratories, with training deadlines that differ by role and specialisation. Managing the refreshers by hand had created misalignments between operational units.
The Forgest approach
We proposed an integrated multi-year training plan structured to cover:
- mandatory training under Legislative Decree 81/2008 for all the Institute’s workers;
- specific modules for testing laboratories (ISO/IEC 17025);
- programmes for internal auditors of ISO 9001 quality management systems;
- training on privacy and cybersecurity for staff who handle sensitive data.
Blended delivery
Delivery was built on two tracks:
- classroom sessions at the IZSUM sites for the practical modules and those involving exercises;
- distance learning on our proprietary platform for the theory, with SCORM tracking and interim tests.
Tracking and deadlines
We loaded the entire workforce into a single digital register with a deadline schedule shared with the Human Resources department. The system sends automatic alerts to the worker and to the manager 90, 60 and 30 days before the deadline, allowing refreshers to be planned effectively.
Result
Training kept aligned for all workers, ten-year archiving of certificates available in the event of an inspection, a lighter administrative load for the HR department.
